In sorrow we remember Ella Huck, who left this world in Hamburg on the 7th of August, 2025.

- everything is shaken by the force of events, all established orders are destroyed, much is broken forever -

As a renowned performance artist based in Hamburg, Ella Huck shares her profound journey through the challenges of severe cancer. Her artistic expression transcends genres, manifesting in intricately embroidered and sewn fabrics, sculptural forms, and vibrant acrylic paintings. Through her lyrics and films, she crafts powerful artistic testimonies that illuminate the resilience found in the aftermath of catastrophe, revealing transformation as a potential outcome.

The works possess a groundbreaking expressiveness that challenges societal taboos. Their candidness and deeply personal, often intimate nature evoke a visceral response in viewers, confronting the repressed emotions surrounding illness, death, and loss. They stir something deep within us.

The installation takes full advantage of the diverse architectural and atmospheric spaces on the first floor of the Oesterfeld04 building, creating a profound and moving experience that culminates in a live outdoor performance. The wild garden, expansive views, and vast sky offer a poignant glimpse into the human condition, intricately woven into the fabric of the world, echoing the concept of the "interdependence of all things" (Thich Nhat Hanh).

Simultaneously, Ella Huck's outdoor performance, in collaboration with performing artist Ned Brauer, invites moments of humor and music, transforming the gathering into a celebration where attendees can dance and enjoy the rhythms spun by DJ groenforce.
